Katrin Kivimägi to be granted the Anna Ekston scholarship

Katrin Kivimägi, repetiteur of the Estonian National Opera, received the Estonian Ballet Union’s Anna Ekston scholarship for an esteemed pedagogue. The scholarship was handed over on September 22 after the performance of „Alice in Wonderland“ on the stage of the Estonian National Opera.
For many years, Katrin Kivimägi has taught the national ballet repertoire to the students of the Tallinn Ballet School and now to the students of the MUBA Ballet, and has taken care that the roles intended for the students are always fulfilled and always performed at a high level. A few dozen MUBA students also take part in the ballet „Alice in Wonderland“.
Every other year, the board of the Estonian Ballet Association recognizes an outstanding ballet pedagogue or repetiteur with a scholarship for professional self-improvement, which is named after Anna Ekston, former Estonian ballet director and founder and long-time director of the Tallinn Choreography School (later Tallinn Ballet School). Tamara Kõrreveski (2022) and Ljudmila Kirš (2022), Irina Härm (2020), Elita Erkina (2018) and Viktor Fedorchenko (2018) have previously received the scholarship. This year, the amount of the scholarship is 700 euros.
